Introduction

I visited Thailand once, in August 1996.  The factory was based in an area to the north of Bangkok and I was very kindly taken out at the weekends by people from the factory who gave up their free time to show me their country.  Most of the pictures on this page are of Bangkok and Ayutthaya and were taken during the weekend outings.

All photos have been scanned from prints.  Currently if you click on an image, a larger version will open in a new window, but I will be changing this when I update this page shortly.

The Grand Palace, Bangkok

The first collection of pictures are all from the Grand Palace, a magnificent complex in the centre of Bangkok and one of the city's best known attractions.

Other Views Around Bangkok

Two pictures of the Chao Praya River, followed by four showing the city of Bangkok during celebrations for an anniversary of the Thai Royal Family in 1996.

Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya, some distance north of Bangkok, was the capital of Thailand between about 1350 and 1767.  In addition to the modern day town, there are temples and old ruins that are a popular attraction.
