Old Facilities Disappear | New Building | New Landing Stage | After Completion This is the second of 2 pages recording the changes that took place in the 1980s. On this page are photos that show the main changes taking place, from the demolition of the old facilities, the construction of the new, and just after completion. The Old Facilities Disappear On the left, the old passenger walkways still in use whilst the middle part of the building had been demolished. On the right, the site where the old walkways joined the land just 2 weeks after their removal. By now the new stage was already in operation. The New New Building Takes Shape Construction of the new terminal building. The New Landing Stage Starting with a strange view, unseen in over 120 years - the river wall without a passenger walkway in place leading down to the landing stage. Once the new walkway was connected, it was used almost straight away as work continued to complete it. After Completion Various views taken after the renewal work was complete. |
